Google review link: how to get yours (free generator and QR code)

What is a Google review link?

A Google review link is a web address that opens the review box for your business directly. Instead of asking customers to search for you on Google and find the right button, you send one link and they land ready to write.

It is the single most useful thing you can hand a customer when you ask for a review: fewer steps means more reviews.

Method 1: copy it from your Google Business Profile

1. Sign in to the Google account that manages your business and search for your business name on Google.

2. In your Business Profile, open the "Ask for reviews" (or "Get more reviews") option.

3. Copy the review link Google shows you. It is a short address you can paste anywhere.

If you don't see the option, check that you are signed in with the account that owns the listing and that the profile is verified.

Method 2: build it from your Place ID

Every Google listing has a Place ID, and the review link is just a standard address with that ID in it. You can find yours with Google's official Place ID finder, or skip the step: search for your business by name in our free tool and it builds the link for you.

The result looks like search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID and works for any business with a public listing.

Turn your link into a QR code

A QR code lets customers open the review box with their phone camera, which is ideal on tables, receipts, the counter or the shop window.

Our generator gives you the link and a print-ready QR code (SVG, so it stays sharp at any size). Print it at least 3 cm wide so every phone reads it easily.

Where to use your review link

Send it by email or WhatsApp right after the purchase or visit, add it to receipts and invoices, and keep the QR visible where customers are happiest. Ask in person first: a personal request converts far better than a generic message.

Never offer discounts or gifts in exchange for a review: Google's policies don't allow incentivised reviews.

When the link doesn't work for a customer

The customer must be signed in to a Google account to post a review, and some people are not. Tell them to sign in first, or to open the link in the browser where they are already signed in.

If the link opens the wrong business or shows an error, check the Place ID. If the review box opens but the review never appears, Google may be filtering it; it can take a little while to show up.
